Conrado Esteban Eggers-Lecour was a journalist, writer, critic, translator and political figure whose spirit, curiosity, commitment, broad knowledge, dedication to social reforms, and joie de vivre inspired and shaped my life and many others. These pages are a tribute to him as a figure and as my father.

He engaged in scrupulous research before writing any article and called upon his extensive knowledge of literature, politics, philosophy, science, and the arts to develop his writing as well as his one-on-one interviews of prominent figures, among them Einstein, the Prince of Wales, and Clark Gable.
